The families of young people missing after a deadly blaze at a bar in a Swiss ski resort are facing an agonising period of uncertainty for official news and requesting clues about their children via social media.

The inferno devastated the a popular bar in the alpine resort, located in the Swiss Alps of south-west Switzerland, in the middle of the night of January 1st. Confirmed images show the ceiling igniting as beverages with fireworks are held aloft.

Officials have indicated that it could take considerable time to formally name the victims of the fire, which claimed the lives of 40 people and wounded another scores more. Authorities said on the latest update that the majority of the injured have been accounted for, with work still underway to name the final individuals.

In the interim, loved ones have been posting on online platforms to plead for clues about their loved ones who were in attendance that night.

Heartbreaking Pleas for the Missing
