John Stones Pushed up the pitch on the ball, as he has done previously. On occasion was too casual when carrying play and the experiment abandoned at half-time. 6

Dan Burn Always dangerous at set pieces, typically, but may be another option to Stones in the backline rather than paired with him. One wayward ball in the second half nearly resulted in an opener from the visitors. 6

Nico O’Reilly A further composed display from the 20-year-old after his first cap versus Serbia. Saka did not capitalize on the opportunity from a gorgeous flick over their defense. The left-back spot is his to lose at this stage. 7/10

The newcomer His first start for his country. Slightly sloppy on the ball but his whipped corners were a threat. An effective game manager available to the boss to have against teams who drop deep. Shown a yellow for a rash challenge. 6

The midfielder Crosses from dead balls and set-plays were dangerous. Enjoyed license to drift down the left flank only to be offside upon receiving in shooting positions. Granted a deserved rest on the hour mark. Six

Jude Bellingham Operated in a forward role on the right and also put in defensive duties. Showed glimpses of brilliance but scuffed an attempt wide. Substituted towards the end for a teammate, his competition, after being booked. 7/10

Jarrod Bowen Had the team's top opening before halftime, his strike excellently kept out from Thomas Strakosha. As a teammate staying deep, he was forced to offer an outlet on the right although his balls from the touchline were inconsistent. Taken off with 15 to go. Six

Harry Kane The difference-maker with his seventy-seventh and seventy-eighth strikes for his country. His first a classic close-range tap-in while the second a superb header after peeling away from his marker. Aged 32, he’s only getting better and the side stand a real opportunity next summer with him up top. 8

Eberechi Eze Found it tough to get into the game out wide. Was presented with a good opening when set up by Bellingham yet Strakosha denied him. Rashford had a greater an impact when substituted. 5/10
