David Walliams lost his contract with publishing house.
Best-selling children's author and entertainer David Walliams has been dropped by his longtime publishing house, according to an announcement.
An official for the firm stated: "Following a thorough review, and with the guidance of its fresh leadership, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish future works by David Walliams."
It has been reported that the decision was made after an inquiry regarding allegations of questionable actions involving young women.
The publisher did not confirm the reasons for its decision, noting: "It is not our policy to discuss internal matters."
A Highly Successful Publishing History
Walliams is one of the UK's most prolific writers for young readers, with sales exceeding over six tens of millions of copies globally in 55 languages.
The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins back in 2008.
Several of his titles, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into small-screen adaptations.
His bibliography includes in excess of 40 works in total, which features a festive story named *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins this past October.
Television and Literature
He first rose to fame on the TV sketch series *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.
He was made an OBE in 2017 for his services to philanthropic and artistic endeavors.
The publisher's decision comes after the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss last fall.
