A American-Palestinian teenager who spent a nine-month period in Israel's custody without being charged gained freedom.

Mohammed Ibrahim had just turned 15 when he was arrested in February within the occupied West Bank, during a family visit from his Florida home accused of stone-throwing against settlement residents, allegations he repeatedly contested.

The US state department expressed satisfaction with the news of Mohammed's release.

Mohammed, now 16, was taken to hospital upon gaining freedom, family members reported.

Family described him as visibly pale and thin, while battling health issues acquired while detained.

Through an official statement, the youth's uncle conveyed their "tremendous relief".

Family member Zeyad Kadur stated the family experienced "surviving a terrible, unending nightmare" over the last nine months.

"At this moment, our priority is providing Mohammed with prompt healthcare necessary for his recovery after experiencing mistreatment by authorities and inhumane conditions for months."

American authorities announced ongoing to extend consular services to the teenager's relatives.

{"The Trump Administration gives utmost importance to ensuring the safety for United States citizens"," the department emphasized.

Twenty-seven US lawmakers had signed a letter to diplomatic officials and President Donald Trump, urging greater action for his freedom.

Mohammed's parent, parent of four children managing a frozen treats business from Florida, previously claimed his son only confessed about rock throwing because the soldiers beat him.

The father hadn't visited or communicated with his son following the detention, and only heard about his son's condition via legal paperwork.

He stayed without charge in Ofer prison on the West Bank.

The facility also contains adult prisoners, including individuals found guilty regarding severe security violations and homicide.

There are around 350 Palestinian minors in security custody being held in Israeli jails, per correctional service statistics.

Several lack formal charges along with monitoring agencies, including UN bodies, report instances of abuse and torture.

Subsequent to his liberation, family representatives announced relatives would persist in advocating for justice for his cousin family member Sayfollah.

The 20-year-old dual US citizen who the Palestinian health ministry said was beaten to death by Israeli settlers following tensions during summer.

At the time, defense forces stated officials were investigating reports a Palestinian civilian had died.

Both young men collaborated in the family ice cream shop in Tampa, Florida.

No charges have been filed with Sayfollah's killing.

"We demand United States leadership to safeguard our relatives," Mr Kadur said.
